Techneau accelerates its low-carbon transition

As a specialist in stormwater treatment and management, Techneau has been operating at the heart of environmental challenges for over 30 years. In a context of ecological transition and increasing regulatory pressure, the company is taking a new step forward: structuring and steering its industrial decarbonization strategy.

Protecting water resources is no longer enough. We must also reduce the carbon footprint of those who protect them.

A structured carbon footprint assessment to anticipate regulations

Techneau has carried out a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment to measure its greenhouse gas emissions and identify key improvement levers.

Objectives:

  • Anticipate upcoming environmental regulations
  • Sustainably reduce CO₂ emissions
  • Raise awareness and mobilize all employees

Methodological support and the use of recognized tools such as the Base Empreinte enabled a precise and structured approach.

Innovation and eco-design serving hydraulic performance

Technical performance remains at the core of Techneau’s DNA. The challenge is now to reconcile:

  • Mechanical resistance of underground equipment
  • Raw material optimization
  • Carbon impact reduction

The industrial eco-design strategy optimizes product shapes and structures to ensure durability while reducing material consumption.

Produce less, but better.

Concrete actions for a more sustainable industry

Following the carbon assessment, several initiatives were implemented:

  • Installation of photovoltaic panels
  • Industrial heat recovery system
  • Creation of a cross-functional CSR committee involving around twenty employees
  • Deployment of actions toward a zero-waste objective

Techneau has set a clear target:
–4.2% CO₂ emissions per year until 2030.

To date, a 10% reduction has already been achieved.

These initiatives complement existing actions, such as our partnership with carrier Jourdan as part of the “10 pallets for the planet” reforestation initiative.

A CSR strategy that strengthens trust

Clients, partners and specifiers are increasingly attentive to the environmental performance of manufacturers in the hydraulic sector.

Techneau’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy represents a true differentiating factor in the sustainable hydraulic solutions market.

Technical performance and environmental responsibility now move forward together.

Structured support from Bpifrance

To successfully implement its industrial decarbonization strategy, Techneau benefited from the support of Bpifrance, a key player in financing and supporting the ecological transition of French companies.

The support was structured in three phases:

  • Guidance toward the appropriate program via the Bpifrance platform
  • Assistance from a dedicated advisor
  • Connection with a certified expert to manage the carbon assessment

This six-month support enabled:

  • The structuring of a clear environmental strategy
  • The definition of measurable CO₂ reduction targets
  • The acceleration of the company’s energy transition

Solar panels, heat recovery, eco-design, CSR committee… Our environmental commitment is driven by the collective engagement of our teams.
